Training is a more immersive learning process than a briefing. Courses are highly structured and usually consist of lecture, question and answer and class discussion elements. We like to use simulations and demonstrations of particular processes or techniques as well.

Most courses include exercises, but we often recommend reducing the number of exercises and instead providing some follow-on coaching and mentoring immediately after the course. Effectively, we use the real world for our exercises.

Training courses are good for rapidly building deep knowledge of a subject area in a fairly small group of participants and target building applied (“how to”) knowledge where a briefing might focus on theoretical (“why”) knowledge.
